English Translation
I bow to the goddess with a crest of nine new moons,
Matangi, who wears a digit of the moon as an ornament,
Who explains the meaning of the Vedic scriptures,
And who is propitiated by Shuka (the parrot).
Who makes fulfilled the path of salvation,
Who causes the creeper of arts to flourish,
I meditate with a sincere heart on Matangi,
Who is adorned with blue peacock feathers and pure waist ornaments.
Whose ears are adorned with hanging ear-ornaments made of palasha leaves,
Whose lotus-eyes are intoxicated with sweet wine,
I bow to her with full breasts, the consort of Shambhu,
Who is adorned with great ankle-bells and heavy ornaments.
Salutations to Matangi, whose body is soft and smiling,
The bestower of supreme prosperity, whose feet are like lotuses,
Who is always served by Lord Shiva and other gods with divine intelligence,
To the goddess who is compassionate, may my firm mind destroy suffering.
Whoever meditates with great eagerness on the supreme mother,
That skillful one creates poetry at every step,
Even in the forest that is difficult to traverse,
She who shines in the speech and tongue grants fruit.
Possessing all auspicious marks, I worship the blooming one with devotion,
What was spoken by Matangi Muni grants immediate perfection in this world.
