asya ShrIgA yatrItattvamAlAmantrasya vishvAmitra RRiShiH anuShTup chandaH paramAtmA devatA hAlo bIjAni swarAH shaktayaH avyaktaM kIlakaM mama samastapApakShayArthe ShrIgA yatrI mAlAmantra jape vinIyogaH
chaturviMshati tattvAnAM yadatkaM tattvamottamam |
anupAdhi paramaM brahma tatparaM jyotiromiti || 1 ||
yo vedAdau svarah prokto vedAMte cha praTitShThitaH |
tasya prakRutilInasya tatparaM jyotiromiti || 2 ||
tadi tyAdipadairvAchyaM paramaM padaM avyayam |
abhedatvaM padArthasya tatparaM jyotiromiti || 3 ||
yasya mAyAMshabhAgena jagadutpadyate'khilam |
tasya sarvottamaM rUpamarUpasyAbhidImahi || 4 ||
yaM na pashayanti paraM pashayantopi divaukasaH |
taM bhUtAkhidevaM tu suparNamupadhAvatAm || 5 ||
yadAMshaH prArito jantuH karmapAshaniyaMritaH |
AjanmakRRitapApAnAmapahantA dvijanmanAm || 6 ||
idaM mahAmunipRo ktaM gA yatItattvamuttamam |
yaH paThetparayA bhaktyA sA yAti paramAM gatim || 7 ||
sarvavedapurANeshu sAMgopAMgeshu yatphalam |
sakadasya japAdeva tatphalaM prApnuyAnmanaraH || 8 ||
abhakShyabhakShaNA tpUto bhavati |
agamA gamanA tpUto bhavati
English Translation
For this Sri Gayatri Tattva Mala Mantra, Vishvamitra is the rishi, Anushtup is the meter, the Supreme Self is the deity, the syllables are the bijas, the vowels are the shaktis, the unmanifest is the kīlaka, for the destruction of all my sins, the application is japa of the Sri Gayatri Mala Mantra.
Of the twenty-four tattvas, that one tattva which is supreme,
Without attributes, the Supreme Brahman, that I call the Supreme Light.
The vowel proclaimed at the beginning of the Vedas, established in the Vedanta,
Merged in Prakriti, that I call the Supreme Light.
Expressed by words beginning with 'aditya' etc., the imperishable supreme word,
The non-duality of word-meaning, that I call the Supreme Light.
By a fraction of whose Maya power this entire world is born,
His most excellent form, I call the form of the formless.
Whom even the gods in heaven do not see, though they see all,
Him, the Lord of all beings, the wise should approach.
By a fraction of whom the being is urged, bound by the chains of karma,
He is the destroyer of sins born in many births, of twice-born ones.
This excellent Gayatri Tattva proclaimed by the great sage,
Whoever reads with supreme devotion attains the supreme goal.
The fruit found in all Vedas and Puranas, in all their limbs,
That fruit alone, humans obtain by a single japa of this.
One becomes pure by eating what is not to be eaten,
One becomes pure by going where one should not go.

अस्य श्रीगायत्रीतत्त्वमालामन्त्रस्य विश्वामित्र ऋषिः अनुष्टुप् छन्दः परमात्मा देवता हलो बीजानि स्वराः शक्तयः अव्यक्तं कीलकं मम समस्तपापक्षयार्थे श्रीगायत्री मालामन्त्र जपे विनियोगः
चतुर्विंशति तत्त्वानां यदेकं तत्त्वमुत्तमम् |
अनुपाधि परं ब्रह्म तत्परं ज्योतिरोमिति || १ ||
यो वेदादौ स्वरः प्रोक्तो वेदान्ते च प्रतिष्ठितः |
तस्य प्रकृतिलीनस्य तत्परं ज्योतिरोमिति || २ ||
तदित्यादिपदैर्वाच्यं परमं पदमव्ययम् |
अभेदत्वं पदार्थस्य तत्परं ज्योतिरोमिति || ३ ||
यस्य मायांशभागेन जगदुत्पद्यतेऽखिलम् |
तस्य सर्वोत्तमं रूपमरूपस्याभिधीमहि || ४ ||
यं न पश्यन्ति परं पश्यन्तोऽपि दिवौकसः |
तं भूताखिलदेवं तु सुपर्णमुपधावताम् || ५ ||
यदंशः प्रेरितो जन्तुः कर्मपाशनियन्त्रितः |
आजन्मकृतपापानामपहन्ता द्विजन्मनाम् || ६ ||
इदं महामुनिप्रोक्तं गायत्रीतत्त्वमुत्तमम् |
यः पठेत्परया भक्त्या स याति परमां गतिम् || ७ ||
सर्ववेदपुराणेषु साङ्गोपाङ्गेषु यत्फलम् |
सकृदस्य जपादेव तत्फलं प्राप्नुयान्नरः || ८ ||
अभक्ष्यभक्षणात्पूतो भवति |
अगम्यागमनात्पूतो भवति
