English Translation

(1) Clad in white garments, of white complexion, white-crested,

Wielding a white staff, two-armed,

Moon of immortal soul, bestowing boons, marked like a hare,

May the god grant me blessings.

(2) Bearing a conch and wheel, born from the ocean of milk,

I bow to the moon, Soma, the ornament on Shiva's crown.

(3) Born from the ocean of milk, lord with Rohini,

Adorning Shiva's crown, salutations to you, O young moon.

(4) Whose rays made of nectar nourish the herb forest,

Who is the cause of all the essence of waters, I bow again and again to the joy of the ocean.

(5) Lord of stars, lord of constellations, handsome and dear to Rohini,

Meditated upon as the destroyer of all sins, I bow again and again to the moon.
